For WUNDERBAR TOGETHER- CLEVELAND we present ten facts that prove David and Renate Jakupca were global superstars far, far ahead of their time.

Wunderbar Together ICEALITY

Wunderbar Together From October 2018 until the end of 2019, Germany and its deep ties to the U.S. will be on display all across the United States. Your Host Ambassador Renate and Dr. David Jakupca will bring the campaign Wunderbar Together (“Deutschlandjahr USA”/The Year of German-American Friendship) from across the entire U.S., bringing to Cleveland, Ohio a collection of events and exhibits revolving around business and industry, politics, education, culture, and science, to highlight the unique importance of transatlantic relations.

“On behalf of Wunderbar Together-Cleveland Team, we are honored to acknowledge the achievements of the lives of American Cultural Ambassadors David and Renate Jakupca, ingenious visionaries who have made a tremendous difference for the betterment, not only to Mankind, but to All the Worlds Children of planet Earth.

They say success is measured, not only by what has been accomplished, but also by the vision that builds its own moment like what is inspiring the Worlds Children Peace Monument (WCPM) organization to excel beyond what it initially thought was possible at EXPO 2000, the Worlds Fair held in Hanover, Germany.
David and Renate Jakupca are true humanitarians, and it is the responsibility of society to continue their crusade now and into the future. We will not likely see the likes of them again.  And, like so many around the globe, we cannot fully imagine our own lives tomorrow without the examples that the Ambassadors have set.  So, it falls to society as best it can, to forward the lessons that their years of blood, sweat, and tears in the countless years their determination has started. That is, to be as true as we could be today and LEAVE A MARK that is positive in the lives of All the Worlds Children. Following the precedent David and Renate set: to make decisions guided not by hate, but by love; to never discount the difference that one person can make; to never quit to strive for a future that is worthy of us.  And, so long as we live, we should do what we have learned from them.
Together, they have worked to cherish the ideal of a free society in which all Living Things flourish together in harmony through Iceality in a sustainable culture of peace. It is an ideal which all can hope to live for and to achieve. But, if need be, it is an ideal for which we as individuals need to be prepared to make sacrifices to achieve.  David and Renate Jakupca lived for that ideal, and they made it real. They achieved more than could be expected of any people”.
“This Should Be a Wake-up Call – a reality check for the Whole World to learn from Iceality: They’ve shined a light on the fight for Social Justice and the are experienced front-liners at the center of the sustainable global Culture of Peace Movement”.

1. Early Global Warming Protection Pioneers
At the end of the 20th David and Renate were already pointing out climatic changes caused by humans and using the Theory of Iceality as a thematic program to save Mother Earth and her Bounty: All Living Things – the Worlds Children.
So what can we learn about Global Warming from the Theory of Iceality?

As an interdisciplinary view: The Jakupca’s Theory of Iceality addresses a broad range of themes and disciplines in a very comprehensive Culture that brings Art and Design together with Science and Technology. Another lesson is that they saw our earth as an interconnected living whole. That is the only way we can understand the interrelationships involved in climate change and our power for humankind to destroy nature.  For Example David was invited to exhibit his Theory of Iceality at the first United Nations Earth Summit on the Environment at Rio de Janero, Brazil in 1992. Since then his Theory of Iceality was embraced by the United nations and appeared in their World Conferences until they were discontinued in 2007.  https://theicea.com/page22

Avid Global Travelers, Ambassadors David and Renate Jakupca, Love to Find Beauty and Peace Everywhere in the World

There they go……from Vienna to Istanbul to Johannesburg to Cairo and more, they have acquired an incredible assortment of lovely keepsakes from traveling overseas as independent observers for the United Nations. “My husband told me we either had to get another storage unit, build a museum, or I should start my own shop,” Renate says. Hiding away her finds seemed meaningless so a museum with a shop seemed appropriate. The ARK in Berea Eco Museum with a shop was the perfect solution to her insatiable desire to collect beautiful vintage things. Born in Austria, Renate began by selling a few items at German fests, and just a few months later, she was ready to move to bigger things. Twenty Years after that, The Trach’ten Tradition is still at it’s current address at the ARK in Berea Eco-Museum as part of North East Ohio’s main historic thoroughfare. As the ‘Spiritual Father of the Environmental Arts Movement’ and founder of ICEA, David Jakupca wanted the ARK in Berea Eco-Musem to stand out as the global home of the Environmental Arts Movement. Its mission is the Theory of ICEALITY, that is to assist an understanding of the relationships between Humans and their Environment through the Arts, it was imperative that the ARK in BEREA ECO-Museum have a distinctive aesthetic appeal as an  artist’s studio while simultaneously actually helping the environment.

Gothic Revival at the ARK in Berea
“The place that is impressive and where the Ambassador still live and work. David created this sustainable future showplace for the couturiers that caused a sensation when it debuted. In 1994 it appeared on the cover of the Plain Dealers HOME MAGAZINE, the areas prestigious journal, written by Karen Sandstrom”

InternecineMatrix18
“It was boule de neige – it snowballed from there.” It was all new what the Jakupca’s were doing then…..and what they still do.” David is very innovative. Because of his style, he did things in the ARK in Berea that were truly workable long before anybody else did. He used recycled materials when they were not fashionable then. He was very ahead of his time. “The Jakupca taste is not for everyone. The Jakupca’s are only interested in their taste: they are sure of what they want and what they have is the best – not just commercially made objects but genuine Art…the ARK in Berea Eco-Museum has actual Egg & Cove molding made with real eggs!

Today, internationally, many of the new robber barons try to emulate the ‘Jakupca Look’ in their houses. A Big Mistake. Today, everyone wants to be green and earth friendly. Only the Jakupca’s can do ‘Jakupca’s Style’… and it looks ridiculous when others try to do it, especially in modern their prefab gated communities. Attempts to copy this look entails a lot of ‘cheating’ without the necessary courage of originality…it comes out looking awful for them. But then that is was makes the ARK in Berea Eco Museum unique.

Renate says selecting items to decorate the Museum from her store comes naturally. She chooses things that remind her of the places she has been and the people she has met on her travels. “I don’t like things to look too designed,’ she says. “David, my husband likes to joke that I can dig through a pile of items and find that one gem that everyone else has missed.” Everything in the store looks as if it has a history–even brand-new items have a soft patina and vintage-inspired charm.

Shoppers find things here they likely wouldn’t find anywhere also. Vintage European clothes, a hand-carved toy from Bavaria, terra-cotta carnival masks from Vienna, and whimsical dolls from Bohemia are just a handful of the fanciful yet functional wares inside the delightful shop. And ‘Vienna Koffee Klatch Salon’  with delicious home made middle eastern European desserts, coffees and teas. These informal Koffee Katcht salons are hosted partly to entertain and partly to refine the taste and increase the knowledge of the participants through conversation followed by action. All treats and activities were free and open to the public.

“Overall, each items is a part of the whole,” Renate says, ” I just love my work–it truly is a labor of love. I wish I could pick certain pieces and put them in a jar, label it ‘The Vienna Market,’ and put it on my shelf at home. It would always make me smile.”

“The ARK in BEREA Eco-Museum has a soul and personality. It is imbued with the ethnic history, traditions and customs of all our ancestors and people who have come before us…..I am now the steward of that legacy” Said Ambassador Renate “You observe your Family’s children or all the Worlds Children, making the same absurd mistakes, heart-rending mistakes many of which I made at their age. It’s by observing the young, indeed, that you eventually understand the sort of idiot you yourself were once upon a time — and perhaps still are. And before there was nothing you can say or do to prevent it. Now, hopefully the ARK in Berea will set an example for them to follow and enjoying everyday of Life”.

EARTH DAY 2017 PAKISTAN iceality Ambassador Renate WCPM

Worlds Children Peace Monument (WCPM) International Mother Earth Day 2017 – Maargalla Hills National Park – Islamabad Pakistan

Members of Pakistan World Peace Daily had reasons to be excited and joyful during their Mother Earth celebration of the Worlds Children Peace Monument (WCPM) on April 22, 2017 that was organized by Pakistani Peace Emissary, Baba Brohi in Margalla Hills National Park at Islamabad, Pakistan.

Starting with the announcement of the many new trees to planted and the celebration afterword, they showed the same sensitivity for nature as they do for people and their love for the wild places.

In her testament honoring the work of the Pakistani People, for their generous voluntary care of Mother Earth, Ambassador Renate meditated on the people’s role as protectors of Pakistan, the Planet and for All the Worlds Children:
“Let us,” she urged, “protect Mother Earth in our lives, so that we can protect others, and protect All the Worlds Children.” That means, she explained in a simple way, “protecting ourselves and the beauty of the natural world, as the Theory of Iceality shows us: respecting each of God’s creatures and respecting the environment in which they live.”

Dr. Renate continued to describe in detail a Worlds Children ethic of iceality care: “It means protecting people, animals and plants, especially showing loving concern for each and every person, especially children, the elderly, those in need, who are often the last we think about. It means caring for one another in our families: husbands and wives first protect one another, and then, as parents, they care for their children, and children themselves, in time, protect their parents. It means building sincere friendships in which we protect one another in trust, respect, and goodness. In the end, everything has been entrusted to our protection, and all of us are responsible for it. We are all protectors of Mother Earth’s gifts!”

She made a special plea to world leaders to join the Worlds Children in this ethic. “Please, I would like to ask all those with positions of responsibility in economic, political and social life, and all men and women of good will: Let us be protectors of God’s plan inscribed in nature, protectors of All the Worlds Children and of the their environment.”

This message is a positive one, calling for goodness and tenderness in the treatment of all others and the world. Addressing the hard-hardheartedness many presume to be necessary for survival in this world, she declared, “We must not be afraid of goodness, nor even of tenderness!”

In conclusion, the Ambassador spoke of the role of the Pakistani Peace Emissary as a Guardian. “To protect the whole of Pakistan, to protect each person, especially the poorest, to protect the Animals and the Plants: this is a service that Baba Brohi has called to carry out, yet one to which all of us are called, so that the star of hope will shine brightly for future generations……….”Let us protect with love all that Mother Earth has given us!”

The result of a major global public promotion at the United Nations level, is that the Theory of Iceality on Environmental Arts is now considered as the cornerstone of the modern global sustainable culture of peace movement and this concept is now replicated by artists, architects, urban planners and sustainable organizations throughout the World, reflecting a still growing global audience, including: Earth Day 2017 &  March for Science

An Open Letter to President Trump

Date: April 5, 2017
Category: Government and Politics

Dear President Trump,
On March 16, You announced a budget plan which calls for increasing funds for military spending and homeland security. To set off the increased spending, You have proposed sweeping cuts to several different governmental organizations that you and your administration may not think are necessary for American life.

We at The International Center for Environmental Arts (ICEA) are aware of the implications of these budget cuts and would like to defend Environmental Arts Programs like the WORLDS CHILDREN PEACE MONUMENT (WCPM), COASTWEEKS dot Com and the National Coast-to-Coast ‘GREAT AMERICAN PEACE TRAIL’. Across the world, the Theory of Iceality on Environmental Arts is the cultural backbone of communities. The Theory of Iceality on Environmental Arts can influence another culture and even bring cultures together. Environmental Arts is so strong on the global stage because of our uniqueness. The music, artwork and theater are all global phenomena using Iceality. The Theory of Iceality on Environmental Arts is a powerful tool, one that the whole Trump administration should want to take full advantage of. Since 1987 in Cleveland, Ohio, Environmental Art has been a global commodity, and the power of a universal Language of Design that Environmental Arts is now considered as the cornerstone of the modern global sustainable movement and this concept is now replicated by artists, architects, urban planners and sustainable organizations throughout the World, reflecting a still growing global audience.

The Environmental Arts are also important for the American individual through the building of the GREAT AMERICAN PEACE TRAIL, and have now become a source of comfort and confidence building for Americans of all ages. Community artistic activities connected to the GREAT AMERICAN PEACE TRAIL encourage the individual to be in touch with his or her thoughts in a beautiful way and provide a healthy way for one to be in touch with his or her emotions. When someone is sad, he or she can channel sadness into a poem of peace and iceality. If someone is happy, he or she can perform an upbeat song. Any emotion in between can be channeled into the Art of Iceality in some way. The GREAT AMERICAN PEACE TRAIL can provide a way to express oneself in a world that can often silence emotions.

The GREAT AMERICAN PEACE TRAIL is also is a source of togetherness among Americans that can Unite America. Iceality allows people of all ages to create a community of good. It is touching that human beings can form such strong bonds over something so intrinsic to all cultures. Whether it’s through performing or listening, Iceality provides a common thread for all of us.

The Environmental Arts are now and always will be the centerpiece of American culture. Most popular American songs or famous American artworks are now a product of our love for Iceality in the arts. In recent years, arts programs at schools have been cut all around the country. The federal government to support the popular cause. The federal government, by supporting the environmental arts programs, says that the arts DO matter. By saying the arts do matter, the Trump Administration makes clear that the fostering of American culture is a high priority. The Trump Administration can make America great again by preservation of the soul of our country by creating the National GREAT AMERICAN PEACE TRAIL.

The International Center for Environmental Arts (ICEA) for 30 years already has a strong appreciation for the arts. Poetry slams, a cappella performances, art shows and civic engagement are quite popular in Cleveland. Greater Cleveland is expands its role as global home of the International Environmental Art Movement as the Primary Economic Engine for the Region and as the ‘Cradle for a Universal Culture of Peace’ for All Living Things. (Worlds Children). We are blessed to live in one of the most well-known hubs for art in the world, whether it be at the historic ARK in Berea or Playhouse Square. The only way to support for the arts is to continue our love and support for the Environmental Arts. Promoting Iceality here at The International Center for Environmental Arts (ICEA) and in our immediate community is easy and socially worthwhile.

Now that I think about it, there should be a National Iceality Day that is more encompassing in its scope than any other celebration in America. Iceality Day would be a day of potential, especially for All the Worlds Children. It is not about something ‘other’, but something we can celebrate and hold as part of ourselves. It is as intimate as Earth Day is for the Plants and Animals and International Peace Day is for the Human’s but more encompassing in its scope than any other celebration on the calendar. It is about US as much as it is about the Animals, Fish, and Birds, about the Plants and Trees, Land and Waters. There is no escaping the Planet Earth. Very few have done it and never for long. The astronauts that are on the International Space Station are going to be off the Earth for a short time; the longest time anyone has spent away from our planet yet…so the universal symbol of peace, the WCPM is ready for Peace in Space.

The WORLDS CHILDREN PEACE MONUMENT members and scholars can support the global iceality methodology on a deeper level by supporting local arts. Like arts programs in schools, local museums and galleries all over the country need funding more than ever. Although on a smaller stage, smaller museums and galleries ensure that the environmental arts continue to thrive. Volunteering and even time spent on social media sites could make a difference.

We at International Center for Environmental Arts (ICEA) also encourage You and Your Administration to teach the Theory of Iceality in America’s Classrooms and for scholars to take their appreciation for the environmental arts and pursue iceality as a lifelong goal. Keep performing and listening, keep painting, designing and analyzing.

Please take matters into your own hands to preserve our American environmental artistic culture for yourself, your countrymen and for All the Worlds Children.
